When the Mission work-trippers went to Virginia last year they were asked, by a local resident, “What are you here for?” It was like she thought we may be at the wrong place; after all, she was there; she was seeking to be the hands and feet of Christ in that place. So, what were we there for?!?!
But the thought stayed with us throughout the trip and all the way home, until arriving in Tipton and we asked, “What are we HERE for?!?!” Our answer to that question caused us to look around our own community, to assess where we might be for someone messengers and servants of Christ. Our answer to that question had us ask someone, Rhonda Waugh, if we could shingle her house. It needs it; she’s sought every other option to get it done but is not able to afford a commercial shingle. She consented to let the work group shingle her house.
We think that’s [one of the things] we’re here for!!! We’ll be doing much other work in the community, too.
A group of 16 people from this church will be working on various projects around Tipton July 14-18. Stay tuned for updates on the web and facebook.
Thanks to everyone who supports the annual mission work activities.
